Notes: 

The Common Terroir & Philosophy: The winemaker proudly calls this a "World of Wine in 30 Miles." While the estate excels at cool-climate whites and Pinots, they embrace the challenge of sourcing big, bold red varietals from the eastern edge of the Columbia Gorge/Valley (like the arid, sun-drenched vineyards in The Dalles). This region receives a mere 17 inches of annual rain compared to Hood River's 32 inches. The winemaker chooses sites local to the winery to ensure the wines retain a distinct "sense of place" rather than outsourcing from distant mega-appellations.
